Dubai: The Al Ain road was inaugurated on Sunday by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council.

HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, tweeted and mentioned that “ Our goal is to turn Dubai into the world’s top city in urban planning”.

The project, undertaken as part of Dubai’s master transportation plan, validates Dubai’s efforts to accelerate its economic development through large-scale projects.

This project will undoubtedly benefit the 1.5 million people who work and live on both sides of the road. It also serves 25 universities and colleges, with a total enrollment of 27,500 students.

Community Benefits:

  • The improved roads will increase vehicle traffic from 12,000 to 24,000 vehicles per hour in both directions. It will also cut travel time from Emirates Road to as Al Khor Road by half 50%, from 16 minutes to 8 minutes.

  • 1.5 million residents are benefiting from the project.
  • Expansion of the Dubai – Al Ain Road from 3 lanes to 6 lanes in each direction by a length of 17 km.
  • The road capacity is 24,000 vehicles per hour in both directions.
  • The total capacity of the bridges at the intersection of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road with Dubai – Al Ain Road is 36,000 vehicles per hour.
  • Travel time from Emirates Road to as Al Khor Road Intersection is reduced by 50% from 16 minutes to 8 minutes.
