With the spread of new COVID19 variant nearly across 30 countries, there have been a flow of new travel guidelines and restrictions. All UAE residents can travel to Dubai without an approval from GDRFA or ICA. However, residents travelling from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Uganda, Vietnam and Zambia will need an approval. Moreover, passengers transiting from these countries are required to present a negative COVID‑19 PCR test certificate for a test taken no more than 72 hours before departure.
UAE nationals returning to the country, domestic workers accompanying a national sponsor, children below 12 years of age, non‑UAE nationals accompanying a first‑degree UAE national family member and passengers with moderate to severe disabilities are a few exceptions who are exempted from getting COVID-19 test at the departure but they have to undergo the test upon the arrival in the country. The tourists also require a mandatory test upon the arrival in the country and everyone is required to stay indoors till they receive the report of their test. To download the COVID19 – DXB application in the smart phones has also been made mandatory.
