The UAE is introducing new visa reforms to make it easier for visitors and their family members. UAE residents are now able to sponsor children up to the age of 25 and daughters up to the age of 21. Previously, the age limit for sponsoring children was 18.

Residents of the Emirates now have the option of staying in the country for up to six months after the cancellation or expiry of their residence permit, under new housing arrangements introduced on Monday. It is not immediately clear whether this applies to all visa types.
The new visa regime will be more flexible and will allow residents and tourists to stay longer in the UAE. The visas can be renewed for up to two years, which will make it easier for people who want long-term residency or wish to explore different regions of the country.

- The residency of family members will expire at the same time as your own permit. Meanwhile, Golden Residence holders can now sponsor family members of any age, as well as domestic workers without any restrictions on the number.
- You can apply for permits for your spouse and children, as well as children of determination, regardless of their age.
- Green Residence visa holders can also apply for residency permits for first-degree relatives.
- In all cases, the residency of family members shall be the validity duration of the original residence holder. Meanwhile, the amendments also allow Golden Residence holders.
- Residents of the UAE will now find it much easier to get residency permits for family members.

- Visitors to the UAE will now have a variety of visa types to choose from, depending on their purpose of visit.
- New types of visas- which don’t require a host or sponsor- have been introduced for the first time.
