- Public Display of Affection

Between imsak, which is 10 minutes before dawn, and iftar, when the sun sets, it is forbidden to consume food, drink, or smoke in public throughout Ramadan.
The Penal Code, officially known as Federal Law No. 3 of 1987 in the UAE, reiterates this rule. It is against the law for anyone to eat or drink in public during the daytime hours of Ramadan, according to Article 313 of the Penal Code.
Notably, regardless of religion or whether they are fasting, everyone in the UAE is subject to this requirement. Because ignorance of the law is not an excuse for breaking it, it is crucial for Dubai’s population, which represents a variety of religious traditions, to be aware of what is required of them during Ramadan.
A person who is found to have broken the law may be punished with up to one month in jail or a fine of up to 2,000 dirhams.
- Alcohol in Public.
You should be aware that it is illegal to consume alcohol or be under the influence of it in public in the UAE. Only individuals or legally permitted public spaces are permitted to drink alcohol.
In the UAE, it is illegal to consume alcohol unless you are at least 21. The Penal Code Amendments to Federal Law No. 3 of 1987 provide for penalties for anyone found supplying alcohol to someone who is believed to be underage.
