NPCI [National Payments Corporation of India] announced on Thursday that India’s BHIM UPI will be available at NeoPay enabled shops (a payments subsidiary of UAE’s Mashreq Bank).
In India, UPI has gotten a huge boost because WhatsApp, a Facebook-owned messaging software, has begun making its UPI option available to a wide range of users. Indians will be able to make payments in a more convenient and secure manner as a result of this initiative.
In UAE, Not all but the NeoPay enabled shops and merchant stores will be able to receive the BHIM UPI payments from Indian travelers/tourists. NIPL & NeoPay partnered a year ago to create the acceptance infrastructure in the UAE.
Ritesh Shukla said that NIPL is working consistently in making digital payments simpler across the globe so that people can adopt it more conveniently, as UPI is one of the most preferred modes of payment for India.
Also, Vibhor Mundhada, CEO of NeoPay said that the partnership with NIPL is a stepping stone to providing innovative payments solution to our customers so that they can take advantage of the digital economy safely and conveniently.
This news came after Nepal began accepting India’s BHIM UPI, which is set to launch in Singapore later this year.
For Indians, Dubai is one of the most popular destinations. Every year, millions of Indians travel to Dubai for vacations or to see their loved ones. It will also be more convenient for a number of Indian students studying in Dubai.
